Maintain.

The deep water averages indicate too high concentrations (2254 μmol kg−1 vs 2247
μmol kg−1). Two MLRs (calculated for 178 samples) with different predictor
variables do not support this rather strong offset though. If AOU is excluded as
a predictor variable the offset becomes even positives (not shown)... Maintain.

The deep water average of the cruise is 2.27% higher than the one from
surrounding GLODAPv2 cruises. The MLR also show offsets indicating too high
concentrations. However, these ones point towards a bias slightly below 2%.
Since that is within the acceptable range and the uncertainty is quite large
anyway, maintain.

The deep water averages indicate an acceptable accuracy (31.82 μmol kg−1 vs
31.44 μmol kg−1). Two MLRs show offsets smaller than 2% (calculated for 200 and
233 samples), i.e. also indicate good accuracy, and demonstrate an "ok"
agreement. Note the high range visible in the box-plots indicating quite a large
uncertainty - probably a result of the spreading of the stations (true for all
parameters of this cruise)... Maintain.

The deep water averages indicate 3.68% too high concentrations . Unfortunately,
the offsets of two MLR differ strongly. Looking at the RMSE of the two MLR,
"si_MLR_po4" seems much more trustworthy. However, both O2 and PO4 might be
offset slightly thus complicating things again. All in all, the results are not
robust/informative enough to permit any adjustment.

Even though within acceptable range this adjustment seems appropriate as the
water is oversaturated at all stations. Mean saturation ratio is 1.03.

06AQ20120107 - nitrate
The deep water averages indicate an acceptable accuracy (31.82 μmol kg−1 vs
31.44 μmol kg−1). Two MLRs show offsets smaller than 2% (calculated for 200 and
233 samples), i.e. also indicate good accuracy, and demonstrate an "ok"
agreement. Note the high range visible in the box-plots indicating quite a large
uncertainty - probably a result of the spreading of the stations (true for all
parameters of this cruise)... Maintain.

06AQ20120107 - alkalinity
The deep water averages indicate good accuracy. Two MLRs (calculated for 208
samples) with different predictor variables confirm this result. Maintain.

06AQ20120107 - tco2
The deep water averages indicate too high concentrations (2254 μmol kg−1 vs 2247
μmol kg−1). Two MLRs (calculated for 178 samples) with different predictor
variables do not support this rather strong offset though. If AOU is excluded as
a predictor variable the offset becomes even positives (not shown)... Maintain.

An additional MLR analysis based on GLODAPv2 has been carried out for all given
variables (for the most part following the method described in Jutterström et
al., 2010). Herefore only deep and approximate data (as for the crossover
analysis) has been used.

Even though within acceptable range this adjustment seems appropriate as the
water is oversaturated at all stations. Mean saturation ratio is 1.03.
