18HU20130507 - salinity
Temporal trend visible towards more saline water starting in 2000;
Trend visble even below 2500m depths;
As most recent crossovers all lie within range neglect weighted mean offset
being above 0.005 - no adjustment.

Based on normalized tco2 (Frijs et al. 2003). Temporal trend towards higher
concentrations visible. All crossovers younger 2005 in range, however still all
offsets above 1. In line with previous (Hudson) findings. Results are confirmed
by "regular" tco2 analysis.

18HU20130507 - alkalinity
Based on normalized alkalinity (Frijs et al. 2003). Highly variable region see
timeline of HU cruises. All but three offsets are in the accceptable range. Note
that most Hudson TA data are of mediocre quality at best. There appears to be
occasional calibration breaks between the southern shelfbreak leg and the main
Labrador Sea leg, and data are generally exceedingly noisy. Results are
confirmed by "regular" alkalinity analysis.

Further very good agreement between all Cruises. No adjustment needed.

There is a very large scatter between the inividual profiles. The majority of
the mean offsets lies outside the acceptable range, but note that all crossovers
show large standard deviations. The offsets are quite consistent over the entire
depth.
HU2011, the only cruise with an offset above 1, has probably too low values
itself following earlier QC. The proposed adjustment also "improves" the
Redfield Ratio. Make an adjustment of 1.02.

Tricky one... Consistent high positive offsets except for the two most recent
cruises (HU2010 & HU2011). These offsets are negative, below the thershold limit
and maybe a sign of an increasing trend.
The weighted mean offset is 1.02. Nonetheless, given the (potential) temporal
trend and the high variability of this region no adjustment suggested.

Crossover results shown here are based on a minimum depth of 2000m. If the
minimum
depth is set to 1500m the negative offset at the upper layers becomes even more
pronounced. Note that this offset diminishes/changes sign in depth.
In general there is a large variability between the crossovers. The majority of
offsets lies within the acceptable range. No adjustment suggested.
