18HU20140502 - salinity
There is a strong trend towards more saline waters starting from 2000 - visible
below 2500m.
All crossovers younger 2006 lie within the accceptable range, thus neglect
weighted mean offset of 0.01 being clearly above the threshold limit. Maintain.

18HU20140502 - tco2
Analysis done for normalized tco2 data (Frijs et al. 2003).
Temporal trend towards higher concentrations visible. All but one crossovers
younger
2005 are in the acceptable range, however still all offsets above 1. Trend in
line with previous findings. No adjustment needed.

All Alkali data is flagged "9" or "3"…
Anyhow, an analysis done by Lorenza Raimondi for normalized TA (salinity/TA
relationship based only on surface salinity data from the Labrador Sea) showed a
strong postive offset.
She confirmed her results by an analysis without normalization. Following the
mean weighted offset of 12.18 adjust downward if flagging will be changed.

Trend towards lower values visible in this highly variable region. The mean
weighted offset is on the limit. The addidtional interconsistency check (type 2)
doesn't make the decision any clearer with an offset of 0.0103 +/- 0.0193. Note
the large standard deviation of this offset (TA has been adjusted upward
following the crossover results). Given this great uncertainty do not adjust.

18HU20140502 - phosphate
Even though the concentartions might be slightly too low, there is not
sufficient evidence for an adjustment within the limits in such a variable
Region.
Note that HU1996 did not receive 2nd QC for this parameter. No adjustment
needed.

Most offsets, but HU2010/11 & HU2007, below 1 as reflected in a mean weighted
offset slightly
below the lower limit. Especially the "Hudson leg" shows stronger offsets,
contrary to the leg from Canada. Not enough evidence to suggest any adjustment.

Most of the crossovers offsets are within the acceptable range, still especially
older cruises show larger negative offfsets. Note that HU2004 got an adjustment
itself which was maybe not strong enough because of a misinterpretation of the
trend. No adjustment needed.
