18MF20120601 - tco2
Analysis performed for normalized tco2 (Frijs et al. 2003).Temporal trend
towards higher concentrations visible. All crossovers (except one) younger 2004
show offsets within the acceptable range. Fits to crossover results for recent
HU Cruises. Maintain.

18MF20120601 - alkalinity
Analysis performed for normalized alkalinity (Frijs et al. 2003). There is a
large scatter between the profiles - questionable precision… The majority of the
crossovers has a negative offset, but mostly within the range. Maintain.

18MF20120601 - phosphate
All offsets, but one HU1996 (not Qced), show values clearly above 1 - either
nearby or above the limit of 1.04 (1.02). There is no clear trend visible and
the offsets are visible at all depths. The suggested adjustment also improves
the Redfield ratio. Adjust 5% downward.

18MF20120601 - ph
All offsets are below or at the lower limit. However, the two lowest offsets did
not receive
a 2nd QC (HU2004/05). Adjusting according to the weighted mean the pH value
would almost be in line with the most recent cruise in time (HU2011). However,
once again the carbon interconsistency check (type 2) does not support the above
described results. To achieve the best possible interconsistency pH should
receive a downward adjustment of -0.0076. But as for the other Hudson cruises
the standard deviation is extemly large (0.02)... Due to this large uncertainty
do not adjust...

All, but two questionable crossovers (HU2004/05) are nearby or below the

given this highly variable region (and the possible tremporal trend), I have too
strong doubts to suggest such a small adjustment.
