318M20130321 - salinity
All offsets are clearly within the acceptable range, except for some SU cruises.
However, note their proximity to the coastline of Japan and the relatively large
distance of the "crossing" stations used for the analysis. Further, there is a
nice agreement with 318M2004. Maintain.

Most offsets are still within the acceptable range. Seems ok if compared to most
recent 318M cruise from 2004 and compared to most recent cruise of all
crossovers - 49UP2010. Also the mean weighted offset is still within the limits.
Maintain.

318M20130321 - ph
An additional carbon interconsistency check (type 2) supports an upward
adjustment indicating that the pH data is about 0.007 too low. The discrepeancy
between the two analyses probably results from slightly too low TA data.

All offsets are clearly below the threshold limit. The weighted mean absolute
offset would imply an adjustment of 0.015. The suggested adjustment sets it on a
line with 318M2004 and cruises younger 2007.

Only one offset is slightly below 1, which is based on quite scattery profiles
(49HG1995).
Most other crossovers show offsets at or above the upper limit. Given the large
number of crossovers, there seems to be enough evidence for a 1% adjustment
downward.
Note that 3.2502E+11 is not illustrated correctly in Xresults.png.

Crossovers, which are far enough from Japan, show consistently good results.
Most 49UF crossovers are based on stations very close to the coast, i.e. upper
layers show unreliable offsets (mostly negative). Concentrations are in line
with the ones of 318M2004. Maintain.

The first 80 stations (western part of the transect) show too high saturation

Based on this no adjustment can be suggested...
