35PK20140515 - salinity
The offsets show an extreme variability, especially for cruises older than 2007.
The most recent cruises such as DI2011, TH2010 and HU2011 have offsets just on
or below the upper limit. Given the extreme variations - there is not enough
evidence for an adjustment on the Limit. Maintain.

35PK20140515 - alkalinity
Analysis based on normalized alkalinity (Frijs et al. 2003). Allmost all cruises
show a postive offset only Hudson and OMEX cruises also show negative ones (of
doubtful quality)...
Repeated crossovers (35TH) show reasonable ok results but still indicate
slightly too high concentrations. Maintain.

35PK20140515 - ph
The decision based on the crossover results is confirmed by the carbon
interconsistency check (type 3). The tco2 (calculated without any pH adjustment)
weighted mean offset is 5.44. Even though this offset is above the upper limit
for tco2, there is a temporal trend in the crossover results visible. Compared
to the more recent cruises the offset diminishes. Thus, no adjustment needed.
Maintain.

Most crossovers indicate too low values with the weighted mean just on the lower
limit. However, e.g. 33RO2003 does not support an adjustment. Too little
evidence for a small adjustment...

Strong agreement between crossovers - all indicate roughly 10% low
concentrations. Offset is consistent in depth. Adjust following the weighted
mean.

35PK20140515 - silicate
Large variabilty between offsets with values >1 and <1 with no clear pattern.
Also note the extreme standard variations demonstrating the large uncertainty.
Following weighted mean do not adjust.

Strongest offsets again near coast/upweeling regions. Other crossovers such as
74DI2011 mostly show offsets close to 1 indicating no need for an adjustment.
