49UP20140728 - salinity
All but one offset (32MW1989) indicate slightly too low concentrations - the
agreement is very striking, see examplarily NZ200505. However, in some rare
cases the offsets seems to be at least less in depth, e.g. UP2010. Given this
doubt and that the absolute offset is within the acceptable range I suggest to
keep it as it is.

The variation of the offsets of the four crossovers is striking. It seems that
the offset is dependant on location - at least in so far that crossovers
restricted to regions close by PNG have a postive offset, see 49RY1994 (note
that it received a strong downward adjustment of -13 itself). The other two
crossovers with 32501993 and 49NZ2005 include much more stations and rather show
a negative offset. Since only one offset is larger 4, maintain.

Most offsets are within the 2% range. Larger offsets are only reached with UF
cruises (only "shallow" data), e.g. UF200401 or UP200706. Maintain.

The analysis is rather difficult as only 4 crossovers are present. These have
strongly differing offsets. The highest crossover quality has 49NZ2005 (repeated
track), but it received a slight downward adjustment. The others only cross at
the very southern end near PNG or have quite scattery data themselves. However,
following the interconsistency check (type 2) a downward adjustment (-0.1) would
be needed which is more in line with the offsets from 49UP2010 and 49RY1994, and
hence the weighted mean. Adjust accordingly.

with CFC11 but that is probably a consequence of a slight CFC11 bias. Maintain.
